North Slope Iñupiaq is the ancestral language of the Iñupiat people whose lands are located within the boundaries of the North Slope Borough situated in northern Alaska from the Brooks Range to the Arctic Ocean. The towns in the North Slope Borough of Alaska include Tikiġaq Point Hope to the far west along the Chukchi Sea and Qaaktuġvik Barter Island along the Canadian border. Inbetween the two towns are Kali Point Lay, Ulġuniq Wainwright, Utqiaġvik Barrow, Atqasuk Meade River, Anaqtuuvak Anaktuuvak Pass, and Nuiqsut, progressing west to east.
